Do Saturday classes run through half term?

Yes. Saturday classes continue as normal through half term. Weekday classes do not run during half term week.

What happens if my child misses a Karate Course or Grading Day?

Courses and Grading Days are held twice a term so there's usually a second date to attend if the first doesn't work. If neither date is possible, speak to your child's instructor, who can advise on the best next steps.

How do I know if my child is eligible for grading?

Eligibility is based on attendance and your instructor's recommendation. Instructors track this and will let students know at class when they're ready and when booking opens.

Do Brown Belt and Black Belt gradings work differently to other grades?

Yes. From Brown Belt onwards, students sit a practical exam and a teaching exam, usually held on different dates, and Black Belt candidates are required to attend both teaching exam days. Exact dates and venues are shown above for the current and next term.

Can I join partway through a term?

Yes. There's no need to wait for a new term to start, we'll calculate a pro-rata price based on how much of the term remains.
