How do I book a Karate Grading?

Once your instructor has given you a grading form, book your place through MyMA using the link for the correct date, venue and belt range shown above.

Do I need a grading form before I book?

Yes. Please don't book a grading until your instructor has given you a grading form. We only put students forward when we're confident they're ready.

What grade will I be graded for?

The next kyu grade up from the belt you currently hold.

What happens if I can't attend either grading date?

You'll need to wait for the Grading Days in the following term.

How often do Grading Days run?

Twice a term, at the end of term, shortly after the term's Karate Courses.

Karate Grading

Grading Days are held at the end of each term and are where students are formally assessed and awarded their next kyu grade, one grade up from the belt they currently hold. You'll only be put forward for grading once your instructor is confident you're ready, so please don't book a grading until you've been given a grading form by your instructor. Bookings open shortly after the course earlier in the term and are made directly through MyMA using the links below. How Grading Works

Your instructor tracks your attendance and progress in class and will let you know when you're ready to grade, issuing a grading form at that point. Once you have your form, you can book your place on the next available Grading Day for your current belt using the links below. If you're unable to attend either of the dates offered, you'll need to wait until the following term's Grading Days.
